Paul Perret was a member of the Wagner football team from 1961-1964 while helping the Seahawks to a 26-10-1 mark, highlighted Team MVP and Honorable Mention All-American accolades during the 1963 campaign. In 1964, he also received All Lutheran College, All East and All Conference team honors. He was then signed by the New York Jets as a free agent in 1965. When former Wagner Hall of Fame coach Bob Hicks was asked about Perret he stated, "Paul was the best lineman I ever had in my 16 seasons." In addition to his dominance on the football field, Perret was a member of the track & field team were he competed in the shot put, discus and the 100-meter dash. He and his wife Joanie have a daughter Shannon.
