Elsie Schatz-Love, a 1950 graduate from Wagner, served a 12-year term on the Wagner Board of Trustees from 1975-87, was a founding member of the Seahawks Touchdown Club in the early 1970s. Schatz-Love is one of the finest volunteer supporters to ever be involved with the school. She held a two-year term as President of the Touchdown Club, and is the only female to ever hold the position. Schatz Love received the Alumni Service Award in 1971 and the Touchdown Club Appreciation Award in 1981. She helped organize travel to the Wagner football 1987 National Championship Game, bringing over 300 people to Phoenix City, Alabama. She also was a member of the Seahawk basketball team as an undergraduate under coach Helen Toebke and would later work as a volunteer secretary in the Wagner Athletics Office from 1988-90. Her late husband, Arthur Love graduated from Wagner in 1951.
