A two-sport standout for the Green & White in the years following World War II Charles "Chester" Sellitto was a standout on the football and men’s basketball teams. A running back for Hall of Fame coach Jim Lee Howell's great teams of the late 1940’s, Sellitto has the distinction of being the first recipient of the legendary Robb Memorial Trophy, presented to the Most Outstanding Player of the annual Homecoming Game. A punishing runner with total disregard for himself, Sellitto also distinguished himself on defense manning the secondary and was known as a fierce and punishing tackler. Sellitto also was a guard on the basketball team. His aggressive style of play on the gridiron carried over onto the hardwood and successful seasons were the order of the day. Sellitto returned to Grymes Hill as an assistant basketball coach from 1966-73, finishing with an overall record of 97-89. He is survived by his wife Patricia and three sons, Pete, Dean, and David.
