Alma Quigley

In a time before most varsity sports existed for woman, Alma Quigley proved to be one of the most dominant athletes of her era. Quigley excelled particularly on the basketball court, consistently leading the team in scoring for Coach Helen Toebke. Her talents also extended to track &field where she set a meet record in the softball throw at the College Girls Track and Field Championships. Additionally, Quigley took the field for club lacrosse and field hockey. In reward for her versatility and excellence, she earned the Herbert T. Holter Award as Wagner’s top senior athlete. Quigley went on to earn her Master’s and Doctorate degrees from the University of Pennsylvania before serving as a full-time professor in Temple University’s Graduate School of Social Administration.
