One of the top receivers ever to play at Wagner, Al Ferrie (1957-1960) still holds a prominent place in the Wagner College record book. Ferrie helped the 1960 edition of the Seahawks to the program’s first undefeated season, finishing with a 9-0 record. Over the course of that year, Ferrie caught eight touchdown passes and totaled 738 receiving yards, which at the time were Wagner single-season records.

Ferrie, who snared 77 receptions for 1,703 yards over his career, also holds the school-record for average yards per catch at 22.1 and graduated as the all-time leader with a then-record of 18 receiving touchdowns. Also an excellent punter Ferrie was a three time Mid Atlantic Conference All-Conference selection. Following graduation, he was selected in the 7th round of the 1961 NFL draft by the Minnesota Vikings, three rounds after future Hall of Famer Fran Tarkenton.
