Kelsey Rodgers (Anaheim Hills, CA/Fullerton JC) and freshman
Sara Olguin (Whittier, CA/Sonora) earned MAAC Weekly honors for their efforts last week. The Seahawks finished 3-2 in five contests, which included three Conference wins over St. Francis (NY), Marist, and Siena.
Rodgers was named MAAC Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in her career. She registered double-digit saves in three of the five games. Rodgers allowed one goal in 16 minutes of action in a come-from-behind 7-6 win over Siena - holding the Saints scoreless in the final quarter. She registered six steals in a double overtime win over Marist.
Olguin claimed MAAC Rookie of the Week honors for the first time in her career. The freshman center was huge for the Seahawks, netting two game winning goals in Wagner's three wins. She scored against Marist with 27 seconds remaining to end a double overtime contest with a 13-12 win. In a game against Siena, the Seahawks entered the fourth quarter down 6-5. Olguin netted the game-tying and game-winning goals in the win. For the week, she registered eight goals and three assists.
