Staten Island, NY - The Wagner College football program has announced its 2009 schedule, which features seven Northeast Conference (NEC) games, four non-conference contests and begins with a home game vs. Stonehill on Sat., Sept. 5.
Following a Thursday night tilt at SUNY-Maritime on Sept. 10, the Seahawks will make a long sojourn to Fargo, ND to meet Missouri Valley Conference member North Dakota State on Sat., Sept. 19.
Wagner kicks off its NEC slate on Sat., Sept. 26 at home vs. Saint Francis (PA). On Sat., Oct. 3, Wagner will travel to future NEC foe Bryant before playing a stretch of six consecutive NEC opponents, culminating with a home game vs. 2008 NEC Champion Albany on Sat., Nov. 21.
The Seahawks are coming off a 3-8, 1-6 NEC campaign in 2008. Head Coach
Walt Hameline, who boasts a record of 189-105-2 (.642), will be entering his 29th season at the helm of the Seahawk program in 2009.
