Staten Island, NY - Freshman midfielder Carolyn Clark (Syracuse, NY / Westhill) has been named the Northeast Conference Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week.

Clark sparked the Seahawks to their first win of the 2009 campaign on Friday and finished the week with five goals and six ground balls in two games.

In Wagner's 11-8 come-from-behind victory over Bryant last Friday, Clark notched three of her game-high four tallies during a decisive 7-0 run to end the game as Wagner rallied back from an 8-4 deficit. Clark also collected three ground balls in the victory.

Two days earlier, in a 12-7 setback to unbeaten Columbia, Clark scored once and added three ground balls. On the season, Clark leads Wagner in goals (eight) and points (eight). She is the sixth-ranked goal scorer in the NEC with 2.0 gpg.

The Seahawks are 1-3 on the season and travel to Manhattan College for a 4:00 pm game on Tuesday.
